FAQs
What is lip blushing?
Lip blushing is a type of cosmetic tattoo that enhances the natural color and shape of your lips. It can give you a soft, tinted look—kind of like a long-lasting lip stain—while also improving symmetry and definition.
Will it make my lips look bigger?
Lip blushing doesn’t physically add volume like filler, but by defining the edges and adding color, it can visually enhance the shape and give the appearance of fuller lips.
How long does lip blushing last?
Results typically last 2–3 years, with fading over time. A touch-up session is recommended 6–8 weeks after your initial appointment to perfect the color and shape. After that, most people do a color refresh every 1–2 years.
Does lip blushing hurt?
We use a topical numbing cream to keep you comfortable throughout the process. You may feel a little pressure or light scratching, but most clients say it’s very manageable.
What’s the healing process like?
You can expect peeling, dryness, and a slight color fade in the first 5–7 days. Full healing takes about 4–6 weeks, and a touch-up may be needed to perfect the color. During healing, avoid picking, kissing, hot/spicy foods, and certain skincare or lip products.
Do I need to prep before my appointment?
Yes! We recommend:
• Exfoliating and hydrating your lips for 3–5 days before
• Avoiding caffeine, alcohol, and blood thinners 24 hours before
• Pre-treating with antiviral medication (like Valtrex) if you’ve ever had a cold sore—even once—since lip tattooing can trigger a flare-up
Can I still wear lipstick or gloss after getting lip blush?
Absolutely! Once healed, you can wear any lipstick or gloss you like. Most clients love the natural flush and find they wear less makeup overall.
