Good to know

Weight loss FAQs.

Am I a candidate?
That's what the consultation determines. Your provider will review your medical history, current medications, and goals to decide whether GLP-1 therapy is appropriate for you. Some conditions and medications rule it out, and we'd rather tell you that up front than start you on something that isn't right.
What's the difference between semaglutide and tirzepatide?
Both are GLP-1 medications that help regulate appetite and blood sugar. Tirzepatide works on a second receptor as well, and the two differ in how people tolerate them. Your provider will recommend one based on your history and goals — and can switch you if the first isn't the right fit.
What does "compounded" mean?
Compounded medications are prepared by a licensed compounding pharmacy rather than a commercial manufacturer. They are not FDA-approved, and have not been evaluated by the FDA for safety or effectiveness. Your provider will go over what that means for you at your consultation, and you're welcome to ask as many questions as you want about it.
What are the side effects?
The most common are gastrointestinal — nausea, constipation, diarrhea, reduced appetite — and they're usually most noticeable when starting out or stepping up a dose. More serious side effects are possible, which is exactly why this is done under supervision. Your provider will go through the full list with you before you start.
Should I do in-house or at-home?
In-house means coming in weekly for your injection in a monitored setting — good if you'd rather not handle it yourself or want regular face time with your provider. At-home ships your prescription to your door and lets you dose on your own schedule. Many clients start in-house and move to at-home once they're comfortable.
How soon will I see results?
It varies, and anyone promising you a number is guessing. Most people notice appetite changes within the first few weeks, while weight changes build gradually over months. Your provider will set realistic expectations based on your starting point.
How long will I be on it?
That depends on your goals and how you respond. Some clients use it for a defined period, others longer term. It's a conversation you'll keep having with your provider at your follow-ups rather than a fixed end date set on day one.
What happens if I stop?
Appetite often returns toward where it was before, and weight can come back without other changes in place. That's why follow-up, nutrition, and habits matter alongside the medication — your provider will talk through a plan for coming off it when the time comes.
Do you take insurance?
No — these services are self-pay, which is why everything is priced openly on this page. Payment options are available if you'd like to spread the cost.
How do I get started?
Book an initial weight management consultation. You'll meet with your provider, go through your history and goals, and leave with a clear plan — or an honest answer that this isn't the right fit for you.
